Hannover Fairground
The Hanover fairground is one of the largest exhibition areas in the world, with a total area of 496,000 square meters (5.3 million sq.ft.), with indoor areas, open spaces, 27 halls and 35 function private rooms. German, who was operating as an airplane factory before World War II, the post-war UK government requested an area for the fair from Germany and this factory was approved. In 1947, as the Export Messe, the first Hannover exhibition was held to promote economic development. When the fair succeeded, it served as a fair and congress center till today. Since 1949, when the fairgrounds were established, it was linked to the city’s tram network. Access to the Hauptbahnhof, Kröpcke and Aegidientorplatz main stations is available, as well as additional excursions at major trade fairs such as Cebit and Hannover Messe. There are trams that leave the station in every 90 seconds which can hold up to 700 people during the fair.
